1) To prevent deterioration, the quality of the oil must be guaranteed. The following points must be paid attention to during the storage of the oil:
(1) Reduce the influence of temperature. Changes in temperature have a greater impact on oil quality. Insulation oil tanks and thermal insulation oil tanks are often used in oil depots. Oil tanks should also be sprayed with water in hot seasons.
(2) Reduce the influence of air and moisture. Air and moisture will affect the oxidation rate of oil products, so airtight storage with controlled pressure is often used when storing oil products.
(3) Reduce the influence of sunlight on oil products. The heat radiation of the sun significantly increases the gas space and oil temperature in the oil tank. Ultraviolet rays can also catalyze the oxidation process of oil. The exterior of light oil storage tanks is mostly painted silver gray to reduce the effects of sunlight radiation. In recent years, an oil-resistant, anti-corrosion, heat-insulating, and electrically conductive white paint has also been used for oil tanks.
(4) Reduce the influence of metals on oil products. Various metals can catalyze the oxidation of oil. Among them, copper has the strongest catalytic effect, followed by lead. The greater the area of metal in contact with the oil, the greater its impact.
2) Reduce the loss of oil products in storage, reducing the evaporation loss of oil products can not only preserve the quantity of oil products, but also ensure the quality of the oil. The usual practice is:
(1) Use floating roof oil tanks and internal floating roof oil tanks.
(2) Breathing valve baffle is selected under the breathing valve of the oil tank.
(3) Sprinkle water to cool down.
3) Ensure that the safety of oil products is of greater risk of fire and explosion, and measures should be taken to improve the safety of oil storage during storage. The specific requirements are:
(1) Reduce the explosive sensitivity of oil products. Strengthen fire management to prevent sparks from metal friction during production. When sending, receiving and transporting crude oil, the friction between crude oil molecules and between the crude oil and pipelines, valves, and container walls will generate static electricity. A good grounding device must be provided to prevent static electricity from accumulating.
(2) Use materials with good flame-retardant properties.
(3) Minimize the loss in the event of an accidental fire.
(4) Ensure that the fire fighting system of the oil depot is in good condition at all times.
(5) Ensure that oil storage facilities and equipment are in the best working condition
